It's now just got our papier-mache T and M letters, and a canvas print I made with some Pink Floyd lyrics on it. (And one teeny-tiny jar of cream that I just stuck up there out of the way this evening and will move before bedtime, honest)

The only change we managed to make in the space of a fortnight was to remove the cards and the chalk. Tiny step forward, but needs more work!
How did you get on with yours?

So reading this made me look up at my mantlepiece - here's what I can see:

A white wicker basket with some random doo-dahs in it, Blade Runner and LOTR box sets, a clock with the battery taken out (because the ticking annoys me), a giant framed picture of some random plant that was here when we moved in, a reproduction director's clapperboard, the box for Skyrim (the game is in the xbox), a camera lens, my sunglasses awaiting repair, a calendar organiser, and a pot of face cream.

I really need to have a tidy up!

I didn't do too badly. I turned off all noises from my phone which made a big difference - less cries for attention. But still, it's always in my hand and I compulsively check. Stage 2 - put my mobile (ironic name) in one place where it will always be and keep my hands free to cuddle my daughter and play instead.

This is really sound advice - you're right to acknowledge that some debt is almost unavoidable nowadays. Due to some hard graft and good luck, we should be completely debt free before this year is out. Hopefully the next debt we incur after that will be a mortgage, but who knows what life will throw at us?

Damned Wordpress never alerted me to your comment - Well done you, and what a brilliant activity! I knew I'd need a strong base so I was originally going to use a standard hard hat. The fact I could have the horns built in by buying a viking hat to begin with was a great bonus and made it much easier.
